George Takei

George Takei is an American actor, author, and activist known for his role as Hikaru Sulu, the helmsman of the USS Enterprise in the Star Trek franchise.

He was also in Blue Eye Samurai, Love Monster, Paws of Fury: The Legend of Hank, Supah Ninjas, Heroes, and Yakuza: Like a Dragon, with appearances in dozens of tv shows including The Twilight Zone, Star Wars: Visions, The Lost Girl, Archer, The Simpsons, Futurama, Adventure Time, The Big Bang Theory, Batman Beyond, and many more.

Takei was born to Japanese American parents, with whom he lived in U.S.-run internment camps during World War II. He starred in the Broadway musical Allegiance, which was inspired by the events that unfolded during that time. He has won several awards and accolades for his work on human rights and Japan–United States relations, including his work with the Japanese American National Museum in Los Angeles, California.
